New interesting places, people and roads

I came on this trip not really knowing what to expect from it all. At first I felt a bit overwhelmed but as I got to know my travel companions a bit better, I soon discovered that everyone on this trip was here for a reason and I realised that this bunch of people from totally different backgrounds and with immensely various interests shared a common goal, to inform and explore the life that is eco and organic.
I must say that I have only limited knowledge on the whole eco industry and organic principles. I’m fast learning that there is more to this than meets the eye. It’s not about shieing away from technology and living like a hermit. It is more the principle of working together with nature than against it, using nature as your friend in a sustainable and often profitable way. Learning to see insects and different types of vegetation not as harbingers of crop failure but rather as helpers in the ecological circle, and that’s only on the farming side.
On the other side of the pond, I found that if you look at nature in a different way and learn to understand the beauty and harmony that comes with ecology, not only you but society as a whole can benefit and in the end prosper. The world and nature in general is not our playground where we can eke every last drop of sustenance from, rather it is there to assist us in surviving. Only by understanding this and knowing our place in all this can we really “profit” from nature.
I have met these vastly different people, who have let me into this project of theirs with open arms and who are willing to teach me how to understand and ways to learn more. I feel that it is only just, that they receive the recognition that they deserve. It only takes a small few to start making a big difference in how we view nature and what it has to offer us. Being eco friendly does not mean that you have to drop technology in the bin, give-up your home and your creature comforts. Rather to me it means doing your little bit everyday in order to make a bigger change over time. Small things like creating your own compost, recycling and now wasting natural resources (our electricity) can, if many people do this, make a large difference to all.
I think I’m losing track of what I wanted to say. Let me sum it all up rather: if we make a change in how we view our relation to nature in general, it does not matter the size of the change we make, we can make a difference. At the end of the day it all boils down to what are you willing to do for your future and your descendants’ future on this place we call our Earth?

You are all exemplary of this message you are bringing accross. It shows that the only thing needed is a willing person to make a difference.
Awareness is key.
All the best in all your travels and doings.
