The ART of Parenting

Before anything else I am a mother. The kids and I recently came back to South Africa after 2 years in the UK. I want to show my children this land, I want them to feel the passion I do, for the beauty both in the landscape and people. I want them to know the history of where we have been and how we got to where we are, and how lucky they are. I want them to know that with all the opportunities that they have, that others might not, comes the responsibility to make it better for all.

Am I crazy to take 2 small kids ( 5yrs and 2yrs) on the road for 1000s of kilometers at a time? – well yes I probably am and I will share our experience with you with will I am sure involve a lot of ups and downs. By the end I am sure we will be such seasoned travellers that I will be able to dispense advice about travelling with kids ad nauseum , for the moment we muddle along and when we don’t know we will just fake it.
